I'm parting out the car.

After a tumultuous year and a half of dealing with problems of every sort, I've decided to part out the car completely.  Nothing should be this difficult and time consuming.  Since I'm being asked so much about why I'm doing this, I'll recap the story.

I bought the car in May 2001.  It already had the Gen III motor, the Haltech, and a few other mods.  I put 800 miles on it when I blew the motor.  I was new to the turbo world and was not familiar with terms like "heat soaked intercooler".  I did some searching around and had the motor rebuilt by a shop that shall remain nameless (to protect the guilty).  The rebuild started in August of 2001 and was completed in Feb 2002 primarily due to issues locating parts.  I'd like to give a special thanks to Jim Griffin who studiously helped in the search for the much needed parts during that time.

TROUBLE CONTINUES

When I picked the car up in February, I had to tow it home.  The next day I found the problem to be the Hall Effect sensor for the Haltech being installed improperly.  The sensor was physically rubbing the crank-angle wheel and of course didn't run very long that way.  Total seal rings were used per recommendation, but it's doubtful that they ever seated over the 4500 mile period that followed.  The motor consumed a quart of oil every 200 miles from day one till the day a valve broke.  During that time, I did all of the stereo & interior customizations that you see, so the car wasn't driven very much.  I fixed every issue with the car except for the motor.  Much time and money were spent trying to diagnose the problems to no avail.  The valve broke Labor Day weekend and the motor was removed in October.  Inside the motor was a disaster.  The broken valve did some damage, and all of the bearings were in bad shape.

I made plans to rebuild the motor again and bought parts to do so.  I really had reservations about doing another rebuild.  My confidence was really low and I wasn't convinced that the same thing wouldn't happen all over again.  Needless to say, at this point I had a ridiculous amount of  money in this project.  I went over various scenarios on what I should do, all of them expensive, and none of them calming my fear....which brings us to where we are today.  I've basically decided to say fuck it and cut my losses now.  Quit while I'm behind, if you will.  I'd like to say thanks to those who have helped me along the way:  My girlfriend, Ring for dealing with this with me from day one until the end and supporting my sometimes poor decisions.  Also David V, Jim G, Sam, & Sae Kang.  I'd like to express my extreme disappointment with Isidro Castillo at HP Motoring/High Performance Online for dodging my calls and not helping me out when I needed it even though I bought (and overpaid for) all my parts from him.  I just expected him to do the right thing and be an honorable businessman.

NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF - PARTS

Everything will be going.  I may sell the rolling chassis as a whole, so I'm not sure about whether I will sell the suspension components and brakes separately yet.  I may also buy a Gen II rear clip and put the car back to completely stock.  Just depends on what I can find out.  I have many parts that are brand new and ready to sell.  I have lot of used parts that were on the car between 4 to 6 months (about 4000 miles).  I'll try to answer all the questions here, as I'm being bombarded with request at the moment.  Check back here frequently for updates.  I'll try to be as reasonable as possible on this stuff.  Keep in mind that I have a ton of money in this stuff because they are quality pieces, so please be reasonable when you make offers.  It will already be cheaper than you can get it anywhere else.  Also for the locals here in Atlanta, you'll get preference since I don't want have to ship all of this stuff, especially the big stuff.  I'll accept checks, cash, & Paypal, but you will need to cover the Paypal fees.  My mailing address is:
