This is my 1994 MR2 Turbo that I just had shipped in from New Jersey that
was purchased from Rob Case in New Jersey. These pictures were taken back
in October 2004 when I finally visited Rob during a New Jersey trip for
a Hot Import Nights event. I say finally because I have been talking to
Rob about this MR2 for about 3 year prior to that trip. He had it for
sale on and off several times and I was pretty familiar with the car at
this point in time. Rob was the second owner of the car, and to date (April
10, 2005) it has less than 15,000 original miles. The body and interior
of the car are in flawless, like new condition. This makes the third MR2
that I presently own, and it would have been four had I not sold my 1994
SMG Hardtop NA MR2 to Bryan Feldman, who I'm happy to say has a V6 swap
planned for it. Rob is a very down-to-earth guy and I enjoyed meeting
him finally and I especially enjoyed going for a ride and test drive in
his immaculate MR2. In March 2005, I finally closed the deal on this MR2
and had it shipped to Atlanta very shortly after. I'm unsure yet what
my plans for this INSANE MR2 or my others as I certainly do not need three
of them at one time. For now I plan to keep everything as is while I contemplate
what to do with this or the silver MR2.
As you can tell from the pics, it's had some slight engine modifications.
It is presently putting to the wheels 469 horsepower @ 21 PSI and 357
horsepower @ 15 PSI. I drive the car at 15 PSI. It has not been tuned
since the addition of the Ross Machine intake manifold, and I also plan
to change the exhaust, so it will need some tuning touch up work. I have
already contacted Matt, aka the Hitman to see when he will be returning
to the USA, and I'm informed that he may have a possible trip coming up
the summer of 2005. If there is anyone who can make this car/engine see
it's potential, it's the Hitman. I had contracted the Hitman's services
in the past, but unfortunately I was in process of parting out the MR2
I had at that time and was unable to make use of his tuning ability. My
very good friend Jim Griffin was however, able to bring The Beast up to
Atlanta for the session, and he was very impressed and happy with the
results of Matt's work. There will be more to follow as I get time, and
as always, you can find out more at http://www.mr2board.com.
